One dictionary definition of Grace is, “The free and unmerited favor of God in the Salvation of sinners and bestowal of sin.”
I thought this was interesting, and a good description. As sinners, as weak, prideful and selfish humans, God shows us Grace. It’s beautiful, really. We aren’t deserving of this Grace, we didn’t do anything to earn it, but He loves us so much that He gave us this example of Grace. He picks us back up again and puts us together every single time we fall down, and He cares.

We try to be as much like Jesus as possible, but it’s hard. Even in that struggle God shows grace and forgives us.
A few years ago I was sick with a stomach bug in bed. I felt awful! But my brother, sister and parents did their best to take care of me, even if I didn’t exactly deserve it. Even if I didn’t do the same for them. They were the perfect example of showing grace to others even when it’s hard.

We should also show grace to those we don’t know. When we try and be like God, and show grace the way He shows grace, other people will see it. They’ll know it’s something different and they’ll be interested. The people who aren’t believers that we show grace to will see God through us, and we will have the perfect opportunity to share the truth about how Jesus died on the cross so that he could continue to be the one to show us grace.

Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For it is by grace that you have been saved, through faith– and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast.

God saved us through grace! We didn’t do anything but He saved us, and now we believe in Him.

So let’s show this grace to others, and be an example of Christ, like we’re called to be.

  1. 😀 Great post! I love you and am so proud of you, Nina! You’ve shown me more grace than I could ever show you in my opinion 😉
