New season, New stuff

adventure-is-out-there-quote

Hello my fellow readers,
I know that it’s been a very long time since you’ve heard anything from me and I wanted to let you, as my readers, know what’s been happening in my little corner of the writing world, what to expect, look forward to, and exciting news. But, before I go on, if you think that you’ve come to the wrong site and were looking for “From my autistic heart”, stay put because you are at the right site. This was FMAH originally and is now Across the Spectrum because I wanted my blog to reflect what’s been going on in my life even though I will still bring forth topics and stuff from my heart.  So, what’s been going on in my world? Well, here’s a few things…..

Writing projects:
I recently undertook smaller writing projects where I’m guest blogging on other blogs. I’ve made an appearance on Found Who I Am, Th!nk, The Little Ways, and R535. On top of working, hanging with my family and friends, and everything else that life has thrown my way. I’m also in the process of writing my second book as well (which I will explain here in a bit) I still plan on guest posting on other sites as I am allowed.

A World Through Autistic Eyes:
As many of you may already know, I completed my first writing project/poetry book. You can find it in the Store page of my blog, I currently have the paperback self-published on lulu and I’m working on getting an ebook done there as well. I’m also looking at a book trailer, tour, and book signings Which I will keep you all updated as I go with what’s going on and where it’s happening at. For everyone on the socials, you can stay updated on my Author Facebook page, in which I will inform you all from there as well.

Ah Shoot:
Welcome to the title of my upcoming book that I’m currently writing; Ah Shoot: When at first you don’t succeed……try, try again. With this fictional book, my goal is to take you, the reader, behind the scenes and into the mind of someone who looks normal but is on the autism spectrum to hopefully answer the question, “What does autism look like?”

What’s Next:
I’ve also real recently joined an online writing community called “Young Writer’s Workshop”, which is geared for taking young writers and turning them into young authors. What I mean by that is on-going support, feedback, encouragement and everything in between. Meaning accountability, prompts, and general discussion all about writing. If you had any doubts if you should do it, let me encourage you to do it. If it wasn’t for the YWW, I wouldn’t have the confidence to ask questions, seek help and be published. Trust me, I wouldn’t be anywhere I am today if God wasn’t in my for-front. I’ve seen Him take this little introvert and do the impossible. I’ve seen Him take her and give her the courage to find her voice by sorely trusting Him.

So, what should you be looking for? I think no one said it better than Ellie from Pixar’s UP:

ADVENTURE IS OUT THERE!

Now Start Here and go do it.

  1. Hi, I just read your guest post on R5:3-5. Thanks for sharing! I have a friend who has experienced panic attacks before, so I wanted to ask a clarifying question: when you said to “hold” the person experiencing an anxiety attack, did you mean physically hold? Thanks.

    1. That is a great question!
It is wonderful to physically hold them during the “attack”. But, for any reason if you can’t be in the room with your friend physically, I know for me, virtual is also welcome. Hope that helps
